Call for Nominations to Utah ASLA Executive Committee

Deadline to submit names is Wednesday, July 12 by 5 p.m.
Voting will take place late July and early August.

 

The open 2017 Executive Committee positions and responsibilities are:

VP of Professional Development (2 year term)

  • Plan monthly PDH lunches or events with help of the Executive Director
  • Help plan educational sessions at the Chapter Annual Meeting
  • Coordinate the Professional Mentor program with Utah State University Student Chapter
  • Attend monthly Utah ASLA Executive Committee meetings
  • Be a voice for the profession of landscape architecture

Treasurer (2 year term)

  • Collect all fees, dues, charges, and other funds due to the Chapter
  • Manage chapter financial accounts with help of Executive Director
  • Develop yearly budgets for the Chapter and present to Executive Committee
  • Present on financial standing of the chapter at the Utah ASLA Annual Meeting
  • Be an advocate for the wise use of chapter funds
  • Attend monthly Utah ASLA Executive Committee meetings

VP of Advocacy (2 year term)

  • Responsible for programs relating to licensure and legal advocacy
  • Coordinate LARE review sessions
  • Coordinate and lead Advocacy Day at the Utah Legislature
  • Track state legislation pertaining to licensure
  • Maintain a relationship between the chapter and the state landscape architecture licensing board
  • Advocate for the profession of landscape architecture

President Elect (3 year term)

  • Assumes the office of Utah ASLA President in 2018.
  • Represent and act for the Chapter as directed by the president and Executive Committee
  • Serve as acting president when designated by the president or the Executive Committee.
  • Attend monthly Utah ASLA Executive Committee meetings
  • Be a voice for the profession of landscape architecture
  • (President Elect is a 3-year commitment: 1 year term followed by 1 year as President and 1 year as Past President)
