Glendale Regional Park - Salt Lake City, Utah
PROJECT SUMMARY
The Raging Waters was once a thriving, beloved destination for the nearby Glendale neighborhood, providing an oasis in the mountainous, water-deficient Salt Lake City. After the water park was no longer in operation, the City did not have the funds to maintain it as a public facility, and so the site was vacant for years. The once-bright colors of the water slides that were used as a wayfinding element, towering above the region and standing in colorful contrast to the mountainous landscape.

The city transformed the vacant 17-acre site into a regional park, serving the needs of the nearby diverse community of Glendale. The regional park will welcome park users to needed amenities such as a playground, lawn and river access.
